As a Machine Learning / Computer vision engineer with experience in software development, and GCP services, I have successfully designed and deployed computer vision applications across diverse industries, including retail, medicine, and geology. I also have knowledge of native Android application development and embedded systems for IoT solutions. In academia, I have taught programming and contributed to research projects focused on computer vision and stochastic global optimization. By keeping abreast of the latest industry developments and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, I strive to create innovative solutions that solve real-world problems.
Educación
Emphasis on machine learning, computer vision, and stochastic optimization. My thesis is about stochastic global optimization algorithms focused on non-stationary algorithms.
Experiencia laboral
I am developing a system to extract information from petrographic images, such as the identification of minerals and the measurement of dimensions of different grains.
I have developed and deployed computer vision and machine learning projects on the GCP platform and for Android devices using technologies such as Kotlin, Tensorflow, Flask, and Python. I have adapted models to function on low-power embedded systems. Through these projects, I have gained expertise in developing and deploying computer vision applications, as well as optimizing models for real-world use cases.
I led the computer vision team and developed computer vision systems for evaluating performance at the point of sale, measuring different metrics including planogram adherence, share of shelf and brand blocking. The systems evaluated images in both traditional and modern channels. Django, GCP, Tensorflow, Keras among others technologies were used to develop this work.
I taught computer programming. Two groups of engineering students. 8 hours per week. The class was taught in c++.
I developed some IoT solutions focused on agriculture and the education sector. I programmed embedded systems such as Texas Instruments microcontrollers and developed some web solutions using Flask, MQTT, basic JavaScript, and CSS to create SCADA-like systems. To control and monitor some IoT sensors and actuators, I developed some applications on Android.
